Basically it ends by going back and forth from A to D... I noticed that the guy who contributed the lyrics for Tim wasn't sure what the very last line of Bastards of Young was. I heard Paul interviewed on a Mpls radio stations just after its release and he said it was "Take it it's yours" - repeated to the fade. His explanation was that this was our generation and we could take it if we wanted. Just a little tidbit for the hungry readers. [ regular: E A D G B E >> open A: E A E A C# E ] Here's how to properly play the main riff for "Left Of The Dial": Put your INDEX finger on the THIRD FRET of the B string. Put your RING FINGER on the FIFTH FRET of the high E string. Hit the rest of the strings open. If the main riff can be accurately described as "Dah-dah-DAH-dah-dah, Dad-dah-DAH-dah-dah", this is where your fingers should be for the "Dah-dah-DAH-" part. For the remaining two 'dahs', you simply replace the RING FINGER/FIFTH FRET/HIGH E STRING with SECOND FINGER/FOURTH FRET/HIGH E STRING. This sounds SO MUCH better than faking it with a standard tuning. Paul plays this while Bob plays the actual chords in standard tuning, but if you want to do a switch over for the D sections of the riff, take your thumb and press it like a bad motherfucker over the 5th fret on BOTH THE LOW E AND A STRINGS. Yup, it's tough, but play a Gibson like Paul, it'll be a little easier. Don't attempt the thumb stunt on an acoustic unless you have gorilla hands to start with! -- "Do I look like a motherfucker?" -Grant Hart www.benalto.com http://cdrtrades.benalto.com (boot tradin')
