Talent Show [From "Don't Tell a Soul"] This is the opening bit on the acoustic. Pretty easy, just bar the open A chord so that you can bounce up and down on the second fret for the F# note and have your pinky ready to hit the G# note on the 4th fret. 0---2---0------2---4---2---0---2 2---2---2------2---2---2---2---2 2---2---2------2---2---2---2---2 2---2---2------2---2---2---2---2 0---0---0------0---0---0---0---0 -------------------------------- This is repeated throughout the song where I have the A chord. The lead line just does very minor variations on the 0-2-0-2-4-0-2 stuff on the high E string. This is how I play the very beginning of "Talent Show." I just let the open E, A, B, and E strings all ring on the down beat and anytime I happen to hit them (I am not noted for the subtlety of my playing). O-------------------------------------- O-------------------------------------- O--9--11--9----------11--13--6-6--9---- O--11-9---7----------9---11--4-4--7---- O-------------------------------------- 0-------------------------------------- Of course this repeats however many times. The figure kind of comes and goes. What tipped me off that it was higher up the fretboard was the descending C#-B-A line on the D string.
